Yet another day…

March 22nd, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

Well, today was the first day back at school. In my Composition 2 class I think about 15 people showed up. There’s about 25 people in the class. It was pretty funny because the whole front of the class was missing, everyone that normally sat in the back was there. We talked a bit about how language is used in short stories *yawn* and then I turned in my revisions to my essay #4. Next, I went to my Texas Government class. I completly forgot that there was another test Wednesday, so that’s another thing I have to study for. We went over some new material, then we reviewed for the test next class. The test doesn’t sound too bad, I think I can at least get a solid ‘B’ on it. Tomorrow I have a huge macroeconomics test, which should be pretty fun. This week is a very busy week.

At work today, I just cleaned boards… all day. I don’t know how many there were, but somewhere around 110 to 130. It’s a very boring job; I can’t hear anything while I’m cleaning the boards because of the fan going to keep the fumes out of the room. Even with my mask however I caught a pretty good high.

Tonight and tomorrow my mom’s babysitting her co-worker’s kids while she’s in Louisiana. My mom found out today that her foot might be broken, it’s been bothering her for about a week, but she finally went in and had it looked at. She’s waiting on the xrays to know for sure.

I’m updating everything on my computer, a total of 348 packages, really fun / long to compile. I’m thinking about trying the new 2.6.12-rc1 when everything gets done updating. It took out Ross’s front speakers, so he could only use his front ones, but I don’t have to worry about that since I only have front speakers.

Anyway, I’m talking with Paige right now, so I’m going to stop now.

Not a whole lot…

March 21st, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

No More Nails!Well, I was browsing around Roo’s Migrant Monoblogue and I came across his post about his future. This got me thinking for a little bit and I don’t really know what I want to do with my life either. Even computers *gasp* have started to lose my interest. So, what should I goto school and learn? Iwas thinking, after watching a blue angel special on the discovery channel, about joining the air force (I’m not thinking about it seriously) so I could fly the big jet planes, that’d be pretty fun. I’m not sure what I want to do with my life. When you kind of think about everything there is to do, there’s not a whole lot of real meaningful jobs out there. Sure, I could go help other people in Ethiopia but even that doesn’t sound very fulfilling. I want to do something that’s going to make me enough money to live comfortably on, and make me happy at the same time. The average person works 90,000 hours in their lifetime, so I think I should do something that I’m not going to dread doing for the rest of my life.

Anyways, while browsing Jo’s Ribose Reflections, I saw the image that I attached to this post. When I first saw it I was like, “that is so wrong.” But after looking at it for a couple more second, I burst out with laughter. The bottle says “No More Nails” for those of you that can’t see it.

I have some Composition 2 homework that I need to finish up and I have a huge Macroeconomics exam Tuesday, so I should probably get busy and start working on all that bullshit. I don’t understand they the professors make assignments due the day after spring break. What are they, stupid? Anyways, that’s really all that’s going on with me at the moment.

Paul McCartney is a pussy.

March 20th, 2005 Rex Morgan 1 comment

Paul McCartney is a PUSSY!I was looking at some comments on a post, and I saw a google ad. After visiting the page that was linked, I’ve come to the conclusion that Paul McCartney is a pussy. Before I go on, I’d like to take the time to mention that the site is fucking pink. Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out, I’ll proceed. On the site, McCartney states, “It’s a real chicken with a face and a heart. When I see bacon, I see a pig, I see a little friend, and that’s why I can’t eat it. Simple as that.” Since when have these pigs begun to befriend humans? Is this fucktard living in some kind of real life Charlotte’s Web? I had a pig once; we named it Bacon. We fed it for about two weeks then we had it butchered. It was the best bacon I’ve ever had. It didn’t try and befriend me at all. All that fat piece of lard did was eat and lay in it’s own shit. If I knew someone that only ate and laid in their own shit, that person would definitely not be my friend.

McCartney also states, “There’s so many animals, there’s not enough land any more and everything’s swamped with pesticides and fertilizers… It’s destroying just about everything…If everyone went veggie we’d need only about half the amount of land…Animals use up huge amounts of water and there are billions of them.” Well then eat the bastards. Do your fucking part. If everyone ate the animals that were fucking with the world, then they wouldn’t be fucking with the world anymore, would they? What do you suppose we do with the animals that are already here? Kill them and leave them to rott, because that’d help out the topsoil a lot.

He also says, “You can feed ten times the number of people on the food they give to animals.” Yeah, if people like to eat animal feed. I don’t know of any people that do, but who knows, I’ve seen videos on b0g of people eating other’s shit… other people’s SHIT.

As for the part about “Being kind to yourself” I don’t know a whole lot about that. I do know however that I do eat meat, lots of meat, and I am:
A) Not fat
B) Healthy
C) Not a Pussy.

So, I’d like to end this post with a big, fuck you Paul McCartney, you fucking pussy.

Paige is home

March 20th, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

I'm A Happy Chappy!Paige is home and I’m a very happy chappy. Today I went and picked her up from the school where the busses had dropped her off, and we went back to her house. The bus that she was on had a broken air conditioner, so she wanted to take a shower before we went and did anything. We were at her house for about two hours while she took a shower, then we went into San Marcos to get some pizza from Valentino’s. I think that’s what it’s called, I can’t really remember, but she wanted to go there so we headed that way. On the way there, she saw Mr. Gatti’s and decided she wanted the all you can eat buffett instead, so we had that. It was pretty good. After that we went back to her house and chilled out in her room. She was really tired from the trip home, and always being on the go in Hawaii, so she fell asleep. She woke up a little later, and I told her that I should probably go so she could get her sleep. We went into the kitchen and started talking to her mom for a little bit, then I left. Now, here I am.. talking about it.. where nobody will probably ever read it…

Right now I’m fixing up Jonathan’s computer. The Windows 2000 disc that I have is being gay. I gave up on trying to put Gentoo on there. I had it on there, but I couldn’t get his wireless antenna to work. He called me the other day and was like, “fuck it, put windows on there.” So I guess, I win, lol.

I got a new cell phone last week. It’s a Motorola V220. It’s got a camera and all that nifty stuff. I’m on cingular, so I’m not “in” so I’ve been told. But from what I hear, cingular is probably the best company to go with, service wise.

Anyway, I’m going to head off to bed / watch more Joe Dirt on comedy central. Later.

Wallhacks!

March 17th, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

Jesus Wall HackDooky sent this Picture to the channel today and I just had to share it with everyone.

I got a speeding ticket friday, 62mph in a 50mph zone. The cops in this particular city are known for being real pricks about everything, although I will admit I probably deserved that ticket. It cost me a quick $215, seems a little high, but the ticket was $130, then court costs were $85. I was in the “Municiple Court” for about 45 seconds. It consisted of my handing the lady my ticket, her asking me if taking defensive driving was an option, me saying no, then me handing her 215 big ones. Then I asked her if that took care of anything, and I didn’t want any warrants out for my arrest. Let’s just say pleaset humour doesn’t lower the cost of fines.

Paige is still in Hawaii, and I’m still really missing her. I’m really glad she’s having a good time, but I just can’t stand being so far away from her for so long. I guess I never realized how much she meant to me until there’s the pacific ocean separating us…

Anyway, I’m going to goto bed. I have to goto work at 10AM tomorrow. Later.

More food for thought: Pwned

A Texan With Plenty To Shout About

March 15th, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

A Texan went to Chicago and thought he would buy a new “city” outfit. He went into Marshall Fields and when asked by a sweet young woman if she could help him, answered, “Yes ma’am, ya see, I’m from Texas and I want to buy a complete outfit.”
Well, her eyes lit up as she asked, “Where he would like to start?”
“Well ma’am, how about a suit?”
“Yes sir, what size?”
“Size 53 … tall, ma’am.”
“Wow, that’s really big.”
“Yes ma’am, they really grow them big in Texas.”
“What’s next?” she asked.
He replied, “How about some shoes.”
“What size?”
“Size 15 … double D.”
“Wow, that’s really big!”
“Yes ma’am, they really grow them big in Texas.”
“What’s next?”
“Well, I reckon I’ll need a shirt.”
“Yes sir, what size?”
“Nineteen and a half … 38,” he replied.
“Wow, that’s really big!”
“Yes ma’am, they really grow them big in Texas.”
She virtually glowed as she asked, “Whew … is there anything else I can do for you?”
“No ma’am , I reckon that will be all.”
Well she tallied up his bill while the Texan was counting out his money. She asked, “Sir could I ask you a question?”
“Yes ma’am, I already know what it is and the answer is four inches.”
She is astonished and blurts out, “Why, my boyfriend is bigger than that!”
Without so much as a stutter, the Texan replied, “Across ma’am?”

Spring Break

March 15th, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

For spring break this year I get to stay home. I went to work today and worked from 7 to 3. I should bring in a pretty good pay check this week. To kick my spring break off, I got a speeding ticket, 62 in a 50, which hopefully won’t cost too much.

Paige got to goto Hawaii with the school band, and I must admit, I’m a bit jealous. She left Saturday morning at 3AM, and I already miss her. She’ll be back next Saturday, I just I have to hope she doesn’t meet any native islander… lol

Anyway, Robert brought over a new hard drive for his computer, 120GB Western Digital ATA, and I hooked it up. Along with it he brought a *legal* version of Windows XP Home Edition. I went ahead and got his computer all setup and sent him on his way. I’m probably going to sell him a monitor for $30 when his mom gets her new computer.

Jonathan’s computer is crap. I finally got gentoo running on it, but now I need to get his wireless adapter setup. There are no markings on the antenna so I have no idea what kind it is. It plugs in via the USB ports, but I have no idea what brand / model it is. When I have some more free time, I’ll have to figure that thing out.

Anyway, that’s all that’s going on with me right now, just waiting for my girlfriend to come home so I can see her again… feeling sorry for myself because I didn’t go anywhere this spring break. I’ll have to plan ahead next year and make sure I can take off from work and all that good stuff.

Database Updates

March 6th, 2005 Rex Morgan No comments

If you visit my blog regularly (I can pretty much garuntee you, you don’t) then you’ll notice that I’ve added a few ads on here. Click on the ads and make me some money… please? Also, someone referred me to a cool site where you’re able to make some money by opening a browser window and letting it auto-refresh pages for you to look at. Basically you get $.45 for every hour the window is opened, and you get “raises” every now and then, upto $.75 an hour. If you’re interested, you can sign up here.

I’ve been updating the way starkBlog works a little bit. Instead of storing the username for each post, it stores the user’s id. This will allow for users to change their username from time to time, if they so feel like it.

I’m working on support for multiple categories, but it’s easier said than done. I have the table all setup to do this, I just need to code the admin panel and the display page to be able to use it. The release of starkBlog 0.4 will probably be awhile, as we’re constantly adding new stuff to it.

Personally, I haven’t had a whole lot of time to do the starkBlog updates because I’ve had to fix a few of my friend’s computers. I installed Gentoo on Jonathan’s computer, but I had to install it on the hard drive from my computer. This caused a few issues, but I had to do it this way because his computer wouldn’t boot from a CD, for some odd reason. I got it all done, put his hard drive back in his computer, but it wouldn’t load gentoo because the hard drive in his computer was /dev/hdc. I switched it to the Primary Master, and it wouldn’t even get past the hardware detection at boot. I went into the bios and it was defining what each of the hardware connectors were. I set them all to automatic, and it worked perfectly. Now I just need to setup his wireless lan, which is a hassle because it uses an external usb antenna.

The other computer I’m trying to fix is Robert’s, another friend of mine. He wants Windows 2000 installed, but for some reason the Windows 2000 install is seeing massive hard drives (2×80GB drives) when he has a 30GB drive and a 4GB drive. I have no idea what’s up with that, but I’ll look into it a little bit later.

Another project I’m working on, the Poipu Package Management Center is coming along pretty slowly. Mainly because I’ve been either busy with school, work, girlfriend, friend’s computers, watching tv, or sleeping. I’m going to get on it though dooky, I promise. Goodnight everyone.
